Service Technician – Class B

About The Position

Suburban Mazda of Troy is hiring a Class B Service Technician. The role involves completing vehicle repair and maintenance work efficiently and accurately according to repair orders, Lithia standards, manufacturer standards, and applicable safety requirements. The technician diagnoses malfunctions, tests repairs through road tests, documents work and test results, and maintains an inventory of normal mechanics’ tools. Candidates should have 2–5 years of dealership or private-shop experience, relevant certifications, and the skills to perform brake, suspension, steering, engine-maintenance, and basic electrical-diagnostic work. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required. High school graduation or equivalent and age 18 or older are also required. Requirements

Class B and/or C-level technician experience, with 2–5 years of experience in a dealership or private shop.
Up-to-date ASE and manufacturer certifications.
Experience using scan tools and service information systems.
Ability to independently perform brake, suspension, and steering repairs.
Proficiency in engine maintenance and basic electrical diagnostics.
Acceptable driving record and a valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
High school graduate or equivalent.
At least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

Perform work outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standards.
Diagnose causes of vehicle malfunctions and complete work according to applicable safety requirements.
Road-test vehicles to ensure the quality of repair work.
Document work performed on repair orders and record test procedures, results, and time according to company recording and clocking procedures.
Provide and maintain an inventory of normal mechanics’ tools.
