About The Position

SPATCO Energy Solutions is hiring an entry-level Service Tech Trainee to learn routine maintenance and troubleshooting of customer equipment. Trainees receive on-the-job training and certification to advance their careers. Required training sessions may take place outside the employee’s home area; the company pays for training, lodging, and meals.

The position requires at least 40 hours of work per week, with hours that may vary and overtime available. Most calls are completed during the day shift. After training, employees join an on-call rotation. The role includes daily local travel and work at customer sites such as retail gas stations, commercial locations, hospitals, travel stops, and government facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Must pass a drug screen and background check.
• Ability to lift 50–75 pounds.
• Ability to travel locally each day.
• Work at least 40 hours per week; hours may vary, with overtime and an on-call rotation after training.

Responsibilities

• Complete petroleum service calls for customers.
• Complete service call paperwork after each call.
• Communicate with the service dispatcher and manager.
• Explain technical issues to customers in non-technical terms.
• Troubleshoot and repair gasoline dispensing units and point-of-sale systems.
• Install, program, and test new petroleum equipment.
• Perform scheduled repairs and preventative maintenance on fueling systems.
• Analyze electrical and mechanical problems and make repairs as required.
