About The Position

SPATCO Energy Solutions is hiring an experienced Service Tech to support fueling equipment and systems in the Montgomery, Alabama area. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, installing, testing, and maintaining petroleum equipment, as well as communicating technical issues clearly to customers. Technicians work with branch managers, dispatchers, other experienced technicians, and trainees; they may assist trainees with their training and certifications. SPATCO provides updated training and certifications for experienced technicians. The position does not follow a typical 8-to-5 schedule. Hours may vary based on workload and customer needs. The work involves daily local travel and working outdoors in all types of weather.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and good driving record.
At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining gasoline dispensing units, including dispenser hydraulics and submerged pump units.
Valid dispenser certification(s).
Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
Ability to travel locally each day.
Ability to lift 50–75 pounds.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair gasoline dispensing units, including equipment from Gilbarco, Dresser Wayne, Gasboy, and Bennett.
Troubleshoot and repair electronic point-of-sale systems, including VeriFone, Gilbarco, and NCR.
Install, program, and test new petroleum equipment.
Analyze electrical and mechanical problems and make repairs as required.
Perform scheduled repairs and preventive maintenance on fueling systems.
Communicate with customers and explain technical issues in a non-technical manner.
Work alongside branch managers, dispatchers, technicians, and trainees; assist trainees with training and certifications when paired with them.
