About The Position

SPATCO is hiring an experienced Service Tech to support petroleum equipment customers in the Montgomery, Alabama area. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, installing, programming, and testing fueling equipment and electronic point-of-sale systems. Technicians receive updated training and certifications and work alongside branch managers, dispatchers, other experienced technicians, and trainees. They may be paired with a trainee to help with training and certification. The position does not follow a typical 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule; hours may vary according to workload and customer needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and a good driving record.
At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining gasoline dispensing units, including dispenser hydraulics and submerged pump units.
Valid dispenser certification(s).
Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
Ability to travel locally each day.
Ability to lift 50–75 pounds.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair gasoline dispensing units, including Gilbarco, Dresser Wayne, Gasboy, and Bennett equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair electronic point-of-sale systems, including VeriFone, Gilbarco, and NCR systems.
Install, program, and test new petroleum equipment.
Analyze electrical and mechanical problems and make repairs as required.
Perform scheduled repairs and preventive maintenance on fueling systems.
Communicate with customers and explain technical issues in non-technical language.
Work alongside colleagues and, when paired with a trainee, assist with the trainee’s training and certifications.
