About The Position

The Service Desk Clerk provides customer service at the store’s front end and supports checkout operations. The role requires knowledge of advertised items, special prices, coupon deals, sales programs, product locations, and current perishable codes. The clerk follows company security and cash-drawer accounting procedures, balances the cash till each shift, assists with register operations, and packs purchases when necessary. Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable store environment, with possible frequent exposure to hot or cold conditions. The minimum age is 18 years.

Minimum age of 18 years.
Ability to perform the physical and sensory demands of the role, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, repetitive motions, coordination, responding to customer inquiries, and maneuvering objects weighing up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

Know advertised items, special prices, coupon deals, and other features of store sales programs.
Know product locations throughout the store.
Maintain knowledge of current perishable codes to support fast checkout.
Notify appropriate personnel of pricing errors or items missing from the file that are discovered during checkout.
Implement security and cash-drawer accounting procedures according to company policies.
Count in and out in a timely and accurate manner and balance the cash till each shift.
Observe the front end to support excellent guest service and help wherever needed.
Operate the cash register efficiently and perform checkout procedures in a fast, friendly, and accurate manner.
Pack guest purchases quickly and efficiently when necessary.
