About The Position

National Church Residences is seeking a Service Coordinator to support residents at two senior apartment communities: Edgewood Village and Elk Riverview Terrace. The role coordinates resident programs and activities, connects residents with community services, and helps address their needs and concerns. The position is full-time, 35 hours per week, at $19.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, seven-hour days, with three days at one building and two days at the other on a rotating schedule.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field preferred.
Two or more years of experience delivering social services to elderly and/or family populations preferred.
Working knowledge of supportive services and local community resources.
Demonstrated ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and deliver measurable results for residents.

Responsibilities

Advocate for residents and organize, problem-solve, and deliver results for those served.
Coordinate programs and activities for residents.
Serve as a liaison to community agencies, network with community service providers, and identify new services available to residents.
Identify low-cost service providers and negotiate discounts where possible.
Engage residents to identify needs and refer them to community agencies when necessary.
Develop a resource directory of state and local service providers.
Sponsor educational events on topics such as health care, agency support, life skills, and referral sources.
Provide quality customer service, address resident concerns, and assist with basic needs.
Help residents acquire and use community services such as housekeeping, meals, transportation, personal services, financial assistance, day care, and counseling.
Monitor, document, and relay feedback or concerns from residents and their families.
Manage internal and external relationships using appropriate communication and interpersonal skills.
