About The Position

AutoNation is a large automotive retailer offering vehicles, financing, parts, maintenance, and repair services. As a Service Advisor, you’ll work in the service department as the go-between for Service Technicians and customers. You’ll explain technicians’ recommendations in clear language, identify appropriate opportunities to help keep vehicles safe, and play an active role in the service lane using automotive knowledge, communication skills, and technology. The role contributes to customer loyalty and exceptional service experiences.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven ability to provide an exceptional customer experience.
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
• Demonstrated communication, consultative, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to follow up with customers.
• Experience and desire to work with technology.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Prior sales experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Set, confirm, and prepare for customer appointments.
• Meet or exceed targeted sales goals and customer satisfaction index goals.
• Greet customers when they arrive.
• Determine vehicle needs using customer information, vehicle walk-arounds, inspections, and test drives.
• Use a consultative selling process to help customers plan ongoing required vehicle maintenance.
• Prepare repair orders, including transparent cost and time estimates.
• Communicate with technicians and parts associates to support timely completion of work.
• Update customers on vehicle status according to their preferred method of communication.
• Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Develop superior product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience that drives loyalty.
• Explain Service Technician recommendations in easy-to-understand language and suggest appropriate opportunities to help keep customers’ vehicles safe.
