About The Position

The Server at Sensei Lāna’i, A Four Seasons Resort provides warm, attentive service by welcoming guests, guiding them through the dining experience, and ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and care. The role requires detailed knowledge of menu selections, food and beverages, preparation methods, and restaurant offerings, along with a commitment to luxury hospitality and service standards.

The Server enters orders and special requests into the POS system, coordinates with the kitchen, verifies and delivers orders, and ensures quality standards and dietary requirements are met. The position also involves anticipating guest needs, making recommendations, responding to questions and concerns, maintaining accurate reservation and guest information, performing table service, processing checks and payments, and assisting with dining-room and service-station setup, cleaning, opening, and closing.

Requirements

• Must possess legal work authorization in the United States.
• Availability for varied scheduled days and times; weekends and holidays are required.
• Must obtain a Tuberculosis (TB) clearance card as required by the Hawaii State Department of Health.
• Hawaii Food Handler’s Card is required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and push or pull as needed during shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Maui Liquor Card preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Guide guests through menu selections with detailed knowledge of food, beverages, preparation methods, and restaurant offerings.
• Accurately enter orders and special requests into the POS system and coordinate with the kitchen to ensure timely and accurate service.
• Verify and deliver food and beverage orders, ensuring quality standards and dietary requirements are met.
• Anticipate guest needs, provide thoughtful recommendations, and promptly resolve questions, concerns, and special requests.
• Maintain reservation and guest information accurately while supporting seamless service flow.
• Perform table service, including water service, clearing, resetting, and maintaining dining areas to restaurant standards.
• Process guest checks, cash and credit card transactions, and authorized adjustments in accordance with established procedures.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and setup of dining rooms and service stations to ensure operational readiness.
• Foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere while upholding luxury hospitality and service standards.
