About The Position
The Server creates memorable dining experiences by welcoming guests, taking accurate orders, providing knowledgeable menu guidance, and ensuring guest needs are met throughout their visit. The role serves food and beverages promptly and accurately, manages multiple tables, maintains clean and organized service areas, and processes payments in accordance with company and security procedures. Servers follow company service standards and safety procedures, comply with hygiene regulations, and maintain any certifications required by state regulations. The position requires stamina for standing, lifting, bending, and moving throughout a shift. The Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites is a downtown Los Angeles hotel in the business district, with an atrium lobby, boutiques and restaurants, and meeting and conference facilities. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with guests and coworkers.
- Must obtain and maintain any certifications required by state regulations, such as Alcohol Awareness or a Food Handler’s Card.
- Ability to remain on one's feet and perform lifting, bending, and movement throughout a shift.
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospitality or food and beverage service experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, take accurate orders, and attend to guest needs throughout the dining experience.
- Learn the menu, including ingredients, dietary needs, daily specials, and alcohol service guidelines, and guide guests accordingly.
- Deliver food and beverages promptly and accurately.
- Manage multiple tables while maintaining smooth service and clean, organized spaces, including during high-pressure periods.
- Handle transactions, close checks, and follow company and security protocols.
- Maintain a clean and safe service area and follow hygiene regulations and certification standards.
- Follow company service standards and safety procedures.
