About The Position

The Server welcomes residents and helps create an inviting dining-room atmosphere by greeting residents, being present, mingling, entertaining, and encouraging connection. The role also prepares dining areas and food-service items, keeps the dining space clean, and communicates observations about residents’ appetites or meal attendance to supervisors and Wellness staff.

This is a full-time position at Crestone in Olathe, Kansas. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Pay is $15–$22 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th-grade proficiency.
• Must have a positive and energetic attitude and enjoy working with residents.
• Must be active and able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents and help them feel welcome in the dining room.
• Be present in the dining room, mingle, entertain, and foster an environment where residents can connect.
• Prepare tables for service, prepare salads for upcoming meals, and roll silverware.
• Bus tables and sweep floors to maintain a clean dining area.
• Communicate with supervisors and Wellness staff when poor dietary habits or unusual changes in appetite are observed, or when residents are absent from meals.
• Assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, and assist persons after a fall.
