About The Position

Le Pain Quotidien is seeking a Server to provide warm, attentive hospitality and support a welcoming restaurant environment. The role involves taking and entering guest orders, anticipating guest needs, maintaining knowledge of the menu and retail offerings, preparing drinks as needed, and helping keep the restaurant clean and organized. Servers also complete assigned opening, mid-shift, and closing tasks and follow cash-handling procedures. The position may include assisting with the patio setup and upkeep where applicable.

Requirements

• 3 to 6 months of related restaurant experience or training.
• Ability to speak, read, and understand the primary language or languages of the work location.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with POS systems, especially Toast.
• Flexibility in schedule; preferred but not required.
• Ability to be cross-trained in all areas of the dining room and retail space.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and attentive service to guests throughout their visit.
• Receive food and beverage orders, enter them accurately into the POS, and follow up with the kitchen as needed.
• Anticipate guest needs and note guest preferences.
• Maintain full knowledge of pastry, bread, kitchen, beverage, and retail items.
• Prepare drinks for the dining room as needed.
• Handle guest situations with empathy and involve a manager when necessary.
• Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures, daily checklists, and side work assignments.
• Organize money and receipts during the shift according to the cash-handling policy.
• Keep restaurant areas clean and organized by following cleaning checklists.
• Assist with patio furniture setup and maintenance of outside fixtures and seating areas when applicable.
