About The Position

Arrow Senior Living is hiring a part-time Server at Buckingham in Saint Joseph, Missouri. The position pays $15–$22 per hour and is scheduled Fridays and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Server welcomes residents, helps create a friendly dining-room atmosphere, prepares for meal service, maintains dining areas, and communicates observations about residents’ eating habits and attendance to supervisors and Wellness staff.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th-grade proficiency with residents.
Must have a positive, energetic attitude and enjoy working with residents.
Must be active and able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, and assist persons after a fall.
Must be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

Greet residents and help them feel welcome in the dining room.
Be present in the dining room, mingle with residents, entertain, and foster opportunities for residents to connect.
Prepare tables and salads, roll silverware, and otherwise get ready for meal service.
Bus tables and sweep floors to maintain a tidy community dining area.
Tell supervisors and Wellness staff about poor dietary habits, unusual changes in appetite, or residents who are absent from meals.
Assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, and assist people after a fall.
