About The Position

The Server welcomes residents, helps create a friendly and engaging dining-room atmosphere, prepares tables and food items for meal service, maintains clean dining areas, and observes and communicates changes in residents’ eating habits or attendance. The position is part-time at Vitalia Rockside in Seven Hills, Ohio, with a Friday and Saturday schedule from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Pay is $15–$23.25 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th-grade proficiency.
• Have a positive, energetic attitude and enjoy working with residents.
• Be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
• Be able to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, and assist persons after a fall.
• Receive criminal clearance.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents, make them feel welcome, and be present in the dining room.
• Mingle with and entertain residents and foster opportunities for them to connect.
• Prepare tables, salads, and silverware for meal service.
• Bus tables and sweep floors to maintain a clean community dining area.
• Communicate with supervisors and Wellness when poor dietary habits, unusual appetite changes, or meal absences are observed.
• Assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, and assist persons after a fall.
