About The Position
The Server VIP Club provides food and beverage service and a high level of customer service to guests. The role includes greeting guests, sharing information about daily specials and the company’s services and facilities, helping guests choose menu items and beverages, and ensuring satisfaction with food quality and responsiveness to complaints. The server maintains a clean, well-groomed appearance and follows sanitation and safety practices. The position involves standing through an eight-hour shift, moving throughout the restaurant and kitchen, and transporting trays or plates weighing up to 50 pounds. The work environment may have varying levels of smoke, crowds, and noise depending on customer volume.
Requirements
- Familiarity with food, beverage, and wine service.
- Knowledge of table service procedures and table etiquette.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Stable work history.
- Typically acquired through one year of food-serving experience in a full-service restaurant; related education and experience may be interchangeable year for year.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to stand throughout an eight-hour shift.
- Ability to move effectively and efficiently throughout the restaurant and kitchen area.
- Ability to transport trays and/or plates weighing up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Provide superior customer service and maintain positive interactions with guests and team members, including handling difficult guest interactions constructively.
- Greet guests promptly and courteously, and inform them of daily specials, soup of the day, and other relevant offerings.
- Provide guests with information about company services and facilities.
- Assist guests with menu and beverage selections using complete menu and product knowledge.
- Notify a supervisor, manager, or line chef when food products are not properly prepared.
- Check food quality and respond to guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a well-groomed, neat, and clean appearance and perform duties with attention to sanitation and safety.
- Anticipate, identify, and address guest needs.
- Transport trays and plates weighing up to 50 pounds and serve food and beverages.
- Take orders, recite specials, and point out specific menu items to guests.
- Communicate effectively with guests and team members at all levels.
