About The Position

South Florida’s beacon of hospitality, Pier Sixty-Six Resort, has returned to Fort Lauderdale. This luxury resort offers 325 guest rooms, suites, and villas, 12 restaurants and lounges, a spa, curated pool options, and a waterfront promenade. The Resort employs over 600 Team Members dedicated to creating memorable experiences and stellar service. Pier Sixty-Six fosters a caring culture with state-of-the-art facilities, a first-class employee dining room, and a focus on individual welfare and well-being. We are seeking a Server Assistant for the Orchid Room, an integral member of the team that creates distinctively different and authentic experiences for club members. This role supports a new high-end brunch all day concept, located on the lobby level of the resort. This high-volume position requires a passion for personalized service and guest engagement in a dynamic environment offering luxury products and service.

  • Ability to push or pull service carts, racks, or other equipment as required.
  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers to carry, handle, and arrange plates, trays, utensils, and service equipment.
  • Ability to maintain balance and stability while carrying trays and navigating uneven or wet surfaces.
  • Ability to visually inspect food orders and identify table numbers, tickets, and service details.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with culinary and front-of-house team members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot kitchen areas, refrigerated areas, and outdoor environments as applicable.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended periods during high-volume operations.
  • High School Diploma or GED recommended.
  • Some College experience or Degree recommended.
  • Must have a current Food Handlers card.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role is preferred but not required.
  • Previous food running, busser, and server assistant experience in a professional setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and maintaining the buffet station, ensuring all items are replenished and presented attractively.
  • Setting and maintaining dining room tables according to established standards, ensuring they are clean, properly arranged, and fully equipped with necessary items such as utensils, glassware, and condiments.
  • Supporting servers by clearing and resetting tables promptly, removing used dishes, glassware, and utensils, and replenishing supplies as needed to ensure a smooth and efficient dining experience.
  • Supporting bar operations as needed with opening and closing procedures, stocking and restocking, preparing garnish, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar.
  • Interacting with guests in a friendly and courteous manner, assisting with any requests or inquiries they may have, and ensuring their needs are promptly addressed to enhance their dining experience.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the dining area, including floors, furniture, and fixtures, to uphold our high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Working closely with restaurant servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to coordinate table turnover, communicate guest needs, and ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Assisting with beverage service, including refilling water glasses and delivering beverages to tables, to support the overall service flow and enhance guest satisfaction depending on your assignment for the day.
  • Adhering to all resort policies, procedures, and hygiene standards, including food safety guidelines, to maintain a safe and sanitary dining environment for guests and staff.
  • Having a working knowledge of draft beer systems and how to properly change a keg.
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, recooking orders, and product availability.
  • Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Performing other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
