About The Position

Pier Sixty-Six Resort is seeking a friendly, outgoing, and seasoned Host/Hostess for its fine-dining Orchid Room. The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests and visitors, welcoming them and helping ensure their dining experience begins positively. This high-volume signature restaurant role requires personalized service, guest engagement, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional customer service. The position reports to the outlet General Manager.

Requirements

Must be able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English.

Ability to interact with Resort associates and guests.
Ability to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations.
Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.
Ability to bend, reach, stoop, stretch, and perform movements needed to assist guests and complete hosting duties.
Ability to lift and carry menus, reservation books, supplies, small packages, and other items weighing up to 15 pounds.
Ability to move around the restaurant, host stand, lobby, and designated guest areas, and safely maneuver among guests and service Team Members.
Ability to operate computers, tablets, telephones, reservation systems, and point-of-sale equipment for extended periods.
Ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements related to typing, handling menus, managing reservations, and using electronic devices.
Ability to maintain visual attention to reservation systems, seating charts, guest information, and dining-room activity.
Ability to hear and communicate clearly in a busy restaurant environment.
Ability to maintain balance and coordination while escorting guests and navigating dining areas.
Ability to remain alert, attentive, and professional during extended shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor dining areas.
Ability to maintain a polished, professional appearance and demeanor in guest-facing duties.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED recommended.
Some college experience or a degree recommended.
Bilingual language skills preferred.
Previous hostess experience in a professional setting preferred.
Fine-dining experience.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly upon arrival.
Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
Seat Members and guests according to the seating chart or their preferences.
Manage the waitlist during peak periods and provide accurate wait-time estimates.
Answer phone calls, take reservations, and provide information as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station and dining area, and help keep the immediate work area and general property clean.
Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally and efficiently.
Follow departmental policies and procedures and uphold service standards.
Communicate effectively with peers, management, line employees, and front-of-house employees; listen actively to understand.
Perform related duties as required.
Follow the Resort's grooming, dress, and uniform standards.
Treat guests and coworkers courteously and maintain behavior consistent with the Employee Handbook's sexual harassment and hostile work environment policy.
Maintain complete knowledge of outlet offerings and Resort information.
