About The Position

Ruby Labs is seeking a Senior User Acquisition Manager to take end-to-end ownership of paid search acquisition on Google Ads and Microsoft Ads (Bing) for a consumer app. This is a senior, hands-on media buying role accountable for channel strategy, execution, growth, and results. The role covers campaign planning, account structure, keywords and queries, bidding, budget allocation, ad and landing-page testing, measurement, scaling, reporting, documentation, and account health. The manager will run web and app acquisition campaigns, including Google App Campaigns for installs, in-app events, subscriptions, and purchases on iOS and Android. Performance will be managed against real revenue and customer-value measures such as CPA, ROAS, payback, LTV, and cohorts. The role involves scaling large budgets profitably, operating within strict platform policies, and working independently with minimal supervision. Ruby Labs is AI-first and expects daily use of Claude or other AI tools and automation to accelerate campaign work. Ruby Labs is a consumer technology company that creates products across health, education, and entertainment. The company operates within the Central European Time zone; applicants may be located in any country within approximately four hours of CET. The role is described as remote, with a flexible independent contractor agreement.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on paid search or user acquisition experience.
  • Proven experience promoting both web conversion campaigns and mobile apps on Google, including App Campaigns for installs and in-app event/value optimization, App Store and Google Play funnels, and iOS and Android measurement.
  • Strong hands-on experience scaling Google Ads accounts profitably across Search, Performance Max, and App campaigns.
  • Strong hands-on Microsoft Ads (Bing) experience, including adapting campaigns to Microsoft rather than only importing them from Google.
  • Deep knowledge of smart and value-based bidding, keyword and match-type strategy, and search term mining.
  • Hands-on conversion tracking setup with GA4, Google Tag Manager, enhanced and offline conversions, and Consent Mode.
  • Experience with MMPs such as AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular, or similar, and with SKAdNetwork/ATT-era measurement.
  • Direct, hands-on ownership of paid search budgets of $1M or more per month.
  • Strong understanding of subscription and app economics, including LTV, ROAS, payback windows, cohorts, and value-based optimization.
  • Experience handling policy and account health issues, including disapprovals, appeals, suspensions, advertiser verification, recovery, and prevention.
  • Strong testing discipline and measurement rigor.
  • Daily use of Claude or other AI tools for campaign builds, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to own channels end to end, work with minimal supervision, and take responsibility for outcomes.
  • Located within approximately four hours of Central European Time.

  • Run web and app acquisition campaigns, including Google App Campaigns for installs, in-app events, subscriptions, and purchases on iOS and Android; optimize for in-app value rather than installs alone.
  • Scale spend profitably while meeting payback, ROAS, and CPA targets based on real revenue and customer-value data.
  • Build and optimize account structure, keyword and match-type strategies, negative keywords, conversion events, and value-based bidding strategies such as tCPA, tROAS, and Maximize Conversion Value.
  • Run and scale Search, Performance Max, Demand Gen, and App campaigns on Google, and Search, Performance Max, and Audience campaigns on Microsoft Ads.
  • Allocate budgets across Google and Microsoft and across brand, non-brand, and competitor campaigns; identify scaling opportunities in queries, geographies, devices, audiences, and campaign types.
  • Run a structured, high-velocity testing process for ad copy, assets, landing pages, and bidding strategies, using clear hypotheses and kill/scale rules.
  • Manage measurement and signal quality, including conversion tracking, enhanced and offline conversions, conversion value imports, Consent Mode, attribution, MMP data, and iOS privacy-related measurement such as SKAdNetwork and ATT.
  • Maintain policy compliance and account health; handle disapprovals, appeals, suspensions, and advertiser verification, and establish prevention-first processes. Maintain account structure, backups, and recovery plans.
  • Work with platform representatives on betas, new campaign types, and escalations.
  • Diagnose performance drops and spikes, including changes in auctions, query mix, and competitors, and take action.

  • Paid national holidays.
  • Company-provided MacBook for employees who need one.
  • Flexible independent contractor agreement, offering flexibility, autonomy, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
