Wellhub•New York, NY
•$95,000 - $100,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Wellhub is hiring a Senior SMB & Mid-Market Account Executive for its Client Sales team to support expansion in the U.S. This hybrid role is based in New York, with 1–2 days onsite in the New York City office. The position owns new-business acquisition across small-to-midsize business and mid-market segments and is a full-cycle, quota-carrying sales role. The Account Executive is expected to operate independently, close complex deals, set a high standard for peers, and collaborate with leadership on sales strategy and regional growth. The role manages opportunities from outbound prospecting and discovery through demonstrations, negotiation, closing, and post-sale implementation. It involves building pipeline, engaging stakeholders across customer organizations, delivering value-based sales conversations, maintaining disciplined forecasting and CRM practices, and coordinating with internal teams to provide a seamless client journey. The successful candidate will also share best practices, mentor newer teammates, and contribute to the development of sales processes and playbooks. Wellhub connects employees with fitness, mindfulness, therapy, nutrition, and sleep partners through a workplace wellness platform. The company describes its culture as collaborative, inclusive, and focused on employee wellbeing and meaningful impact.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of B2B sales experience in full-cycle or closing roles, with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding quota in fast-paced SaaS, HR Tech, or technology-enabled environments.
  • Experience selling to both SMB and mid-market segments, including managing longer, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, custom pricing, and executive-level conversations.
  • Strong outbound prospecting skills and the discipline to build pipeline consistently.
  • Ability to take ownership of activity, territory planning, and forecasting, and identify pipeline risks before they affect results.
  • Ability to work independently and engage leadership for strategic guidance, complex deal positioning, and long-term growth rather than requiring day-to-day oversight.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, empathy, and emotional intelligence; ability to conduct effective discovery, identify business needs, and align solutions to client outcomes.
  • Humility, accountability, willingness to own mistakes, receptiveness to feedback, and a coachable, growth-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and sales engagement platforms such as Outreach or Salesloft.
  • Ability to maintain accurate, real-time CRM data and forecast with discipline.
  • Ability to use AI to research and evaluate deals while validating outputs before acting on them.
  • Competitive, collaborative approach and genuine interest in Wellhub's workplace wellbeing mission.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full sales cycle across SMB and mid-market accounts, from outbound prospecting and discovery through demonstration, negotiation, close, and post-sale client implementation.
  • Handle complex, multi-stakeholder, and custom-priced deals; facilitate decisions among multiple stakeholders and negotiate mutually beneficial terms while applying discounts strategically.
  • Source opportunities through outbound calls, email, and social channels, as well as inbound channels.
  • Identify territory and pipeline gaps early and execute plans to address them before quota is at risk.
  • Develop a referral network that generates proactive prospect inquiries.
  • Build trusted relationships with decision-makers in HR, People, Finance, and executive leadership.
  • Uncover customer needs and position Wellhub as a strategic solution, using knowledge of the competitive landscape and Wellhub's differentiators to educate buyers.
  • Meet and exceed segment-adjusted quarterly quota and team sales metrics through disciplined pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and adherence to the sales process.
  • Partner with Marketing, Legal, Sales Development, Client Success, and Programs to support a seamless handoff and customer journey.
  • Share best practices, call insights, and market trends with the SMB team; mentor newer teammates and document repeatable pipeline-management routines.
  • Recommend sales process and playbook improvements, present ideas to leadership, help test regional approaches, and flag risks early.
  • Support a workplace environment that values personal and colleagues' wellbeing.

Benefits

  • Free Gold-level Wellhub membership, with access to gyms and studios, digital fitness programs, and online wellness resources; ability to add up to three family members.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Telehealth, care concierge, and an Employee Assistance Program.
  • 401(k) match.
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance and life insurance.
  • Hybrid and remote work options, depending on the role and agreement with the recruiter and hiring manager.
  • One-time home-office equipment reimbursement and a monthly work allowance for working from home.
  • Flexible schedules coordinated with leaders to suit time zones, team needs, and personal routines.
  • At least 25 days of paid time off per year, with an additional day per year of tenure up to five additional days, plus annual holidays and an extra holiday on the employee's birthday.
