About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Senior Scrum Master to support DISA and its Intel and Cyber Division at Fort Meade, Maryland. The role supports the design, deployment, and sustainment of an innovative IT enterprise solution for defense and intelligence missions. The Senior Scrum Master leads project execution using hybrid predictive and Agile methodologies, facilitates SAFe practices, removes impediments, and coordinates delivery across engineering teams and external stakeholders. The position partners with the Government PMO and Amentum leadership on reporting, schedules, metrics, risk management, governance, and program reviews. It also supports backlog management, deployment readiness, service interruption scheduling, and continuous process improvement. The employee works daily in a SCIF and may periodically work in a datacenter. The schedule is eight hours per day, Monday through Friday, with the ability to support non-standard hours for maintenance windows, deployment surges, and emergency planning. Travel may be up to 10%. An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required. This is a safety-sensitive position and is subject to drug screening.

Requirements

Fifteen years of experience in IT project management, systems engineering, or technical program execution supporting large-scale enterprise deployments, as stated in the Minimum Requirements section.
Seven years of experience managing projects or programs with hybrid methodologies, including at least three years in a senior Scrum Master or Project Manager leadership role, as stated in the Minimum Requirements section.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, IT, Project Management, Systems Engineering, or a related field; additional years of experience may substitute for the degree. The Minimum Education section specifies computer science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience implementing SAFe principles, facilitating PI Planning, and managing Agile Release Trains.
Experience interfacing directly with Government stakeholders to provide status reports, manage expectations, and coordinate program reviews.
Experience developing and maintaining an Integrated Master Schedule, tracking milestones, and using project management tools such as MS Project.
Expert-level proficiency in Jira and Confluence, including Agile backlog management, custom workflows, and tracking velocity, burn-down metrics, and sprint health.
Strong risk-management expertise, including establishing and maintaining RAID logs for high-visibility IT programs.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills, including resolving cross-team conflicts, removing organizational impediments, and fostering collaboration.
Ability to support non-standard hours for maintenance windows, deployment surges, and emergency planning.
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Active DoD 8140/8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Drive end-to-end project execution using predictive planning and iterative Agile technical execution.
Facilitate SAFe ceremonies at team and program levels, including Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and PI Planning.
Partner with the Government PMO and Amentum leadership to prepare status reports, manage the Integrated Master Schedule, and present performance metrics.
Establish and maintain project governance artifacts, including RAID logs, and brief risk mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
Identify, track, and remove technical and administrative impediments to support engineering team focus and velocity.
Track, analyze, and report performance metrics such as velocity, burn-up/burn-down charts, cumulative flow, and SLA compliance.
Translate engineering milestones into sprint epics, features, and user stories in Jira and Confluence.
Collaborate with Product Owners, System Engineers, and Site Leads to prioritize backlogs and define acceptance criteria and the definition of Done.
Coordinate schedules and dependencies with contractors, site teams, and third-party independent test agencies such as JITC.
Conduct post-project reviews and lessons-learned sessions and implement process improvements.
Establish operating agreements and RACI matrices; coach team members on SAFe principles, hybrid delivery, and program standards.
Lead project readiness reviews, manage authorized service interruption scheduling, and help create deployment schedules and project checklists.
Comply with safety, quality, operational, environmental, and procedural requirements.
Support non-standard hours for scheduled maintenance windows, deployment surges, and emergency planning sessions.
Travel up to 10%.
