Senior SCRUM Master
About The Position
As a Senior Scrum Master, you will coordinate multiple cross-functional Agile development teams using the principles and tools of the Scrum Framework. In a servant-leadership role, you will support self-organized teams in completing Scrum projects, identify and remove impediments, and facilitate sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. You will support, coach, and mentor team members and facilitate collaborative interactions and events aimed at delivering business value in a Scrum @ Scale environment. The role involves teaching teams Lean, Agile, and Scrum/Kanban practices; partnering with Product Owners to align product vision, goals, customer-centric delivery, and backlog health; and working with teams and Agile Coaches to refine working agreements and definitions of ready and done. You will help teams and leaders solve problems, foster continuous improvement, support organizational change, and participate in scaled planning, delivery synchronization, dependency management, and systems-level inspect-and-adapt activities. The position is remote, with the ability to travel to office locations as needed. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, Agile, project management, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience on a Scrum team.
- At least 5 years of experience with Lean and implementing a Kaizen mindset.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a scaled environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, coaching, teaching, and mentoring skills.
- Embody the Scrum values of Openness, Respect, Courage, Commitment, and Focus.
- Have a bias for action and be comfortable in an ever-changing or ambiguous environment.
- Remote work, with the ability to travel to office locations as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced credential from Scrum Alliance, Scrum Inc, Scrum.org, or ICAgile.
- Experience with project and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, and Office 365.
- Encourage an experimental, fail-fast, and learning mindset.
- Experience with teams applying DevSecOps capabilities to achieve delivery speed and operational stability.
- Experience with scaled frameworks, especially Scrum @ Scale or SAFe.
- Experience working with teams across technical domains such as warehouse management systems, ERPs, financial systems, and data warehouses.
Responsibilities
- Teach and mentor multiple teams on Lean, Agile, and Scrum/Kanban principles and best practices.
- Facilitate team events that draw out ideas from everyone and ensure the events achieve their intended outcomes.
- Work with teams to implement and create practices that improve their ability to deliver better outcomes.
- Foster a Kaizen mindset within and outside the team.
- Help teams remove their own barriers, use Scrum of Scrums to address barriers they cannot remove, and challenge organizational impediments.
- Partner with the Product Owner to align product vision, goals, customer-centric product delivery, and backlog health.
- Work with teams and Agile Coaches as needed to co-create and refine team working agreements, definitions of ready and done, and coaching backlogs.
- Coach teams and leaders to solve their own problems and empower teams to solve problems.
- Act as a change agent and help teams navigate organizational change using ADKAR and other change-management methodologies.
- Participate in scaling adoption and scaled events, including cross-team planning, delivery synchronization, dependency management, and systems-level inspect-and-adapt.
