About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking a Senior Sales Associate to deliver a welcoming, engaging retail experience and help customers find instruments and equipment that fit their musical interests. The role combines sales, product expertise, customer relationship building, merchandising, store operations, and team leadership. As a keyholding member of the store, the associate may open and close the store as needed and guide and mentor fellow team members.

Requirements

• Passion for music and a solid understanding of various instruments and products.
• Proven sales track record and ability to exceed targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to influence and inspire others to achieve goals.
• Flexibility to work additional hours if needed, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment and help customers find gear that supports their musical interests.
• Achieve and exceed sales targets by connecting customers with instruments, accessories, and related products through upselling and cross-selling.
• Maintain expert knowledge of products, including instruments and recording equipment, and help improve colleagues’ product knowledge.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and support fellow associates in doing so.
• Organize displays, restock shelves, and maintain the store.
• Guide and mentor team members, supporting them with customer interactions and operational tasks.
• Open and close the store as needed as a keyholding team member.
