About The Position

Guitar Center is hiring a Senior Sales Associate to help customers discover instruments and equipment, deliver a welcoming store experience, and support sales and store operations. The role combines customer service, sales, product knowledge, relationship-building, merchandising, and peer leadership. As a keyholding team member, the Senior Sales Associate may open and close the store as needed and help guide and mentor fellow associates.

Requirements

• Passion for music and a solid understanding of various instruments and products.
• Proven sales track record and ability to exceed targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to influence and motivate others toward shared goals.
• Willingness to work additional hours if needed and nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment and help customers find gear suited to their musical interests and needs.
• Meet and exceed sales targets by recommending relevant instruments, accessories, and other products, including through upselling and cross-selling.
• Maintain strong knowledge of musical gear, including guitars and recording equipment, and help improve colleagues’ product knowledge.
• Build customer relationships and help associates strengthen relationships with customers and the local music community.
• Organize displays, restock shelves, and maintain the store’s appearance.
• Guide and mentor team members, support customer interactions and operational tasks, and open or close the store as needed as a keyholding team member.
