Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Texas.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in residential land development engineering.
  • 4+ years of project management experience with demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong experience with: Single-family residential developments, Subdivision design, Master-planned communities, Paving, grading, drainage, water distribution, sanitary sewer, and stormwater systems.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, schedules, and client expectations.
  • Experience building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, and related engineering software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with municipalities, counties, utility providers, and regulatory agencies.
  • MUD, PID, Municipal Utility District, or development district experience.
  • Established relationships within the Texas residential development market.
  • Demonstrated business development experience and the ability to expand client relationships.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior engineering staff.
  • Manage existing client relationships and develop/seek out new business opportunities with new clients.
  • Responsible for project management reporting and client invoicing.
  • Responsible for performance management of team and ensuring high quality work is performed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage residential land development projects from concept through construction.
  • Direct a team of Project Managers, Engineers, EITs, and Designers in the preparation of plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Oversee the design and development of: Single-family subdivisions, Master-planned communities, Residential site development projects, Paving, grading, drainage, water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, municipalities, utility districts, and project stakeholders.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term client relationships while identifying opportunities for additional services and business growth.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, profitability, invoicing, and overall project performance.
  • Provide technical guidance, quality control oversight, and mentorship to engineering staff.
  • Support business development activities, including networking, proposal preparation, client meetings, and market expansion efforts.
  • Foster a high-performing team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
