About The Position

As a Senior Product Manager on Coinbase’s Payments Platform team within the Platform product group, you will own how customers add and use bank accounts, cards, and digital wallets on Coinbase. Payments Platform builds and operates systems that move customer money into and out of Coinbase, including bank transfers, card payments, wires, and real-time payment rails. The work directly affects revenue and customer trust, since customers cannot proceed if they cannot add a payment method. Coinbase is a remote-first, but not remote-only, company. Employees are expected to gather quarterly for in-person working sessions called “surges.”

Requirements

At least 7 years of product management experience, with depth in payments, money movement, or financial platforms.
A track record of owning a payment or money movement funnel end to end at scale with measurable results.
Working knowledge of card payments and bank transfers, including declines, retries, verification, tokenization, and routing.
Ability to work in depth with engineers on service architecture, APIs, and routing logic.
Strong analytical instincts, including the ability to design experiments and make measured tradeoffs.
Use generative AI responsibly, maintain human oversight, and deliver business-ready outputs that measurably improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

Own the multi-year strategy and roadmap for how customers add and use bank accounts, cards, and digital wallets on Coinbase, covering the funnel from the first screen through linking, verification, and failure recovery.
Drive intelligent routing of payment onboarding across multiple payment service providers and banks, selecting paths that are likely to succeed and cost less to operate, so an individual provider issue does not become a customer outage.
Shape the approach for confirming that a payment method belongs to the customer, partnering with Risk and Compliance to balance fraud loss and conversion.
Partner with Business Development and external bank and processor partners on commercial terms, integrations, and future payment capabilities.
Lead end-to-end payment method cost and performance reporting, surface tradeoffs to senior leadership, and build reusable platform capabilities for other product teams.
