Senior Product Manager, Customer Data Platform: Identity & User Keychain

Expedia Group•Seattle, WA
•$173,000 - $242,500

About The Position

Expedia Group is hiring a Senior Product Manager to own User Keychain, its customer identity graph within the Customer Data Platform (CDP), and define its future strategy. User Keychain connects registered and anonymous traveler activity across brands and devices, supporting personalization, marketing activation, advertising, fraud prevention, servicing, and measurement. The role will set the company-wide direction for identity resolution across authenticated and anonymous states and determine how the platform should evolve as authentication, privacy regulation, and device and browser tracking change. This strategic, executive-visible position combines technical product leadership with extensive cross-functional influence. The product manager will work with data engineering, brand and experience teams, Advertising, Marketing, Legal, data governance, and other Data Product Managers. The role includes assessing current identity capabilities against industry best practices, setting a multi-year roadmap, aligning shared dependencies and investment, evaluating third-party partnerships, and communicating the business case and progress to senior leadership. Identity resolution design must incorporate legal, privacy, consent, data governance, and vendor data-sharing requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 6 years of product management experience, including significant direct experience building data products and identity graphs, such as identity resolution, customer master or golden record, or identity stitching across channels or devices.
  • Demonstrated ownership of strategy and a roadmap for a platform or data product with company-wide dependencies, including communicating and defending the strategy to executives.
  • Working technical fluency in deterministic and probabilistic matching, identity graphs, confidence and quality scoring, and data provenance sufficient to challenge and shape engineering decisions.
  • Track record building shared roadmaps and aligning dependencies across functions such as engineering, marketing, advertising, legal, and product, including navigating competing priorities to reach a committed cross-team plan.
  • Experience evaluating, negotiating, or managing third-party data or identity-vendor partnerships and framing them around a specific business problem.
  • Comfort working in a large, matrixed organization and building consensus among stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience owning or contributing to an identity-resolution or identity-graph product at consumer scale, including hundreds of millions of profiles and mostly anonymous traffic, and making authenticated-versus-unauthenticated identity strategy decisions.
  • Experience auditing a data product or platform against industry or competitive best practices and using the findings to support significant investment.
  • Experience partnering with Advertising or Marketing on identity-dependent use cases such as audience activation, attribution, or targeting, and understanding the downstream effects of identity quality.
  • Familiarity with privacy and compliance requirements affecting identity resolution, including consent management, Right to Be Forgotten, cross-border data transfer, and cookie or device-ID deprecation, with experience incorporating these into product design.
  • Experience integrating third-party demographic, graph, or identity-resolution vendors, such as Experian-style data providers, identity graph providers, or clean rooms, into a first-party data platform.
  • Experience in travel, e-commerce, or another high-scale, multi-brand consumer business where identity resolution affects personalization and marketing performance.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for User Keychain and traveler identity resolution across authenticated and anonymous states.
  • Evaluate build, buy, and partner options; deterministic and probabilistic matching; and the future direction of identity as authentication, privacy regulation, and device and browser tracking change.
  • Audit existing identity-resolution logic and related CDP products against industry best practices, quantify gaps, and drive improvements.
  • Represent User Keychain to executives and senior stakeholders, translating technical identity concepts into business terms and advocating for investment.
  • Partner with data engineering to shape technical plans for schemas, matching and linkage logic, confidence scoring, latency, and freshness, and sequence investment against business priorities.
  • Build shared roadmaps and dependency mappings with brand and experience teams, Advertising, Marketing, Legal, and other Data Product Managers.
  • Build cross-functional commitment and negotiate priorities, sequencing, and resourcing trade-offs to align the roadmap with partner needs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop third-party identity and data-provider partnerships; define business problems jointly with brand or experience teams and own build-versus-buy-versus-partner recommendations.
  • Define and track identity-resolution success measures, including match rate, identity confidence and precision, anonymous-traffic coverage, and downstream activation lift; report progress to leadership.
  • Embed consent, Right to Be Forgotten (RTBF), cross-border data use, and vendor data-sharing requirements in identity-resolution design with Legal and data governance.
