About The Position

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior Presales Systems Engineer to support its Federal Civilian Agency organization. The role provides technical leadership and presales support for technology solutions that meet customer requirements, with a primary focus on campus, branch, WAN, security, and access control architectures. The successful candidate serves as a senior technical advisor on complex pursuits and consults with customers on end-to-end technical designs that align business goals with practical, scalable architectures.

This is a highly customer-facing role focused on selling activities that primarily take place outside HPE offices. The engineer partners with account teams and customers to develop solutions, build trust and technical credibility, and connect mission priorities to outcomes. Florida is the preferred candidate location because of customer coverage and proximity. The position is designated Remote/Teleworker, with regular travel to customer sites, meetings, and strategic events, primarily throughout the United States.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Significant presales systems engineering, solution consulting, or related customer-facing experience in enterprise or cloud-focused environments.
• Deep experience in campus and branch networking, including wired, wireless, WAN, security, and network access control.
• Strong Juniper Junos and Mist experience.
• Experience with network access security solutions such as HPE Aruba ClearPass, Juniper Access Assurance, Cisco ISE, or similar platforms.
• Solid working knowledge of data center and WAN technologies.
• Experience supporting complex customer environments and translating technical capabilities into mission value.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage audiences from engineers to executives.
• Willingness and ability to travel to customer locations primarily throughout the United States.

Nice To Haves

• API knowledge.
• SRX knowledge, or knowledge of DMVPN, ADVPN, or GroupVPN.
• Direct hands-on experience with data center technologies, WAN technologies, or both.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior presales technical advisor for assigned Federal Civilian Agency customers, emphasizing campus, branch, WAN, security, and access control architectures.
• Partner with Account Managers to identify, qualify, and advance opportunities from discovery through close.
• Lead customer discovery and translate business, operational, and technical requirements into solution architectures and roadmaps.
• Design and present solutions spanning wired and wireless campus networking, branch networking, WAN, security, network access control, automation, and cloud-managed operations.
• Build and deliver technical proposals, presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements.
• Explain HPE Networking differentiation and position solutions against competitive alternatives.
• Engage engineering, product management, services, and partner teams to remove blockers and align solutions with customer outcomes.
• Maintain awareness of market trends, competitive positioning, and emerging technologies relevant to cloud-driven customer environments.
• Develop trusted relationships with customer engineers, architects, operations leaders, and decision-makers.
• Support channel and partner engagement where applicable to expand reach and influence within accounts.
• Travel regularly to customer sites, internal meetings, and strategic events.
