About The Position

Motorola Solutions is a global company that develops and connects technologies to help protect people, property, and places. Its Presales Systems Engineering Team primarily supports State and Local Government Public Safety infrastructure and subscriber design and implementation for projects in the Southeast Region.

The Presales Systems Engineer intern will work closely with Communication Systems Engineers to design radio communication solutions from conceptual phases through implementation. The team consults with customers to understand their requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs. Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to technical strategy, customer proposals, solution design and planning, and implementation activities. The role also involves taking responsibility for professional and technical development.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree, with an expected graduation date on or after December 2027.
• Returning to school in Fall 2027.
• Legal authorization to work indefinitely in the United States; employer work permit sponsorship is not available.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated and able to maintain focus in a pressured environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with customers.
• Experience or knowledge in radio systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless, broadband, microwave, and/or networking.
• Experience or knowledge of communications networks such as MPLS, Ethernet, and TCP/IP.
• Certifications through CCNA, CompTIA, and/or Amateur Radio/HAM.

Responsibilities

• Work with sales, product development, and project management to develop technical strategies and generate customer proposals presenting Motorola Solutions’ solutions.
• Coordinate the design and planning of customer solutions using advanced technologies and provide technical support throughout the presales phase.
• Contribute to coverage and antenna site selection, frequency planning, interference analysis, system architecture design, equipment selection, proposal generation, and customer presentations.
• Participate in implementation of solutions as originally conceived.
• Take responsibility for technical aspects of assigned projects from award through system acceptance, including implementation planning, system acceptance testing, coverage testing, and system staging.
• Keep sales professionals and customers informed about Motorola Solutions’ latest technology offerings and their relevance to customer needs.
