About The Position
Boomi is seeking a Senior Presales Solutions Engineer with deep expertise in API Management (APIM) to lead complex technical engagements in North America. In this strategic role, the successful candidate will act as a principal architect, helping enterprise clients transition from fragmented connectivity to a mature, API-led architecture. The role defines how Boomi’s platform secures, manages, and scales digital services, and ensures integration efforts deliver measurable business value and ecosystem growth. The position involves leading API strategy and architecture across the lifecycle, consulting with executive stakeholders, advising on enterprise security and governance, demonstrating developer portals, coordinating teams on high-stakes proofs of concept and RFI/RFP responses, and connecting API Management with Boomi’s foundational iPaaS platform. The role is remote-friendly. U.S. compensation is listed as $175,512–$219,390 USD. The posting also describes OTE of $175K–$219K, inclusive of commission; final compensation depends on factors including location, knowledge, skills, experience, and role type.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in API Lifecycle Management and deploying high-performance API Gateways in complex, distributed environments.
- Deep technical proficiency with modern identity providers and security frameworks, and understanding of risk mitigation at the edge.
- Proven ability to design solutions incorporating Microservices, Service Mesh, and Event-Driven Architectures (EDA).
- Track record of driving technical alignment in a sales environment and addressing high-level business challenges.
- Exceptional executive-level presentation and communication skills, with the ability to connect technical complexity to strategic business outcomes.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced proficiency in AWS, Azure, or GCP and enterprise API suites such as MuleSoft, Apigee, or Kong.
- Certifications in Cloud Architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP), Information Security (CISSP/CCSP), or Enterprise Frameworks (TOGAF).
- Expertise in API Lifecycle Management and the security or orchestration of AI-driven APIs and LLMs.
- A bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of comprehensive API strategies covering the full lifecycle, from design and documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger through security policy enforcement and retirement.
- Partner with C-level stakeholders and Enterprise Architects to explain the business value and ROI of an API-first strategy, including security, scalability, and productization of data.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on enterprise security protocols, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Lavender, and JWT, and ensure gateway solutions meet corporate compliance and governance standards.
- Architect and demonstrate Developer Portals that support discovery and consumption of internal and external APIs.
- Coordinate cross-functional internal specialists to lead high-stakes proofs of concept and respond to complex technical requirements in RFI/RFP processes.
- Demonstrate the relationship between API Management and iPaaS, including how governed APIs can securely deliver the enterprise Golden Record.
