Senior Operations Manager (Operations Manager I)
About The Position
The Senior Operations Manager (Operations Manager I) oversees outbound warehouse functions on the first shift and helps ensure smooth, efficient warehouse operations. The role involves implementing processes to optimize operations, leading and developing a diverse team of Supervisors and indirect reports, fostering a safe and productive workplace, and supporting DHL Supply Chain’s operational success. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 3 p.m., with flexibility required to meet business demands. DHL Supply Chain North America operates more than 500 facilities and employs over 50,000 associates across over 150 million square feet of warehouse space. The organization emphasizes teamwork, associate development, training, and continuous improvement, and maintains a business-casual environment.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of logistics industry experience.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience with P&L management, objective setting, and project management is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, coach, and develop a diverse team of Supervisors and indirect reports while fostering inclusion and belonging.
- Develop and implement efficient workflows, labor plans, standardized processes, and best practices to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Uphold health and safety compliance and promote safety awareness throughout the organization.
- Compile reports on key performance indicators, including productivity and accuracy metrics, to inform decisions and support continuous improvement.
- Promote open communication and collaboration between leadership and associates.
- Partner with Human Resources and site leadership on hiring Supervisors, providing input and recommendations to support selection of qualified candidates aligned with organizational values, culture, and requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to fulfill customer orders consistently and promptly.
- Partner with customers and proactively address concerns or issues to achieve exceptional customer satisfaction.
