Position Summary St. Onge is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join our Manufacturing Services team. This is a leadership role designed for a seasoned consultant and manufacturing engineering professional who excels at project delivery, client relationship development, team leadership, and business growth. Reporting directly to the Director of Manufacturing, the Senior Manager will lead client engagements, oversee project execution, mentor engineers and project managers, contribute to sales and proposal development, and help grow both our business and consulting team. This role serves as a pathway to broader leadership opportunities within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in industrial engineering, supply chain engineering, manufacturing operations, or manufacturing consulting.
  • Proven experience managing projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
  • Experience leading and developing direct reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced data analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations.
  • High attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Experience with data management and visualization tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
  • Lean certification and/or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience with MES and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Consulting experience within manufacturing operations and facility design environments.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, R, or similar analytical tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing consulting engagements from assessment through implementation.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, resources, and client expectations.
  • Provide quality assurance for project deliverables and recommendations.
  • Assess manufacturing facilities, processes, material handling systems, storage strategies, and facility layouts.
  • Develop process flow diagrams, value stream maps, and other engineering documentation.
  • Identify operational improvement opportunities using Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Build business cases and financial justifications for facility, process, equipment, and technology investments.
  • Present recommendations and findings to client leadership teams, including executive-level stakeholders.
  • Support sales calls, client discussions, and strategic business development efforts.
  • Develop proposals and statements of work for new opportunities.
  • Expand relationships with existing clients while identifying new opportunities within their organizations.
  • Collaborate with leadership on growth strategies for the Manufacturing practice.
  • Manage and mentor project engineers and project managers.
  • Support employee development through Skills and Career Development Matrices.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching conversations, and career planning discussions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Coordinate staffing and resource planning across projects.
  • Partner with design, HR, accounting, and other support teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Provide weekly project status updates and resource forecasts.
  • Assist with invoicing, accounts receivable oversight, and project financial management.
  • Contribute technical content for marketing materials, presentations, and thought leadership.
