About The Position

At RXO, the Senior Manager, Operations provides strategic leadership and direction for the company’s Transportation Management services offering. The role defines opportunities for improvement and efficiency while identifying areas for growth. It develops and deploys transportation operational and management solutions, establishes business controls and processes, and supervises a transportation team to meet service-level standards. The Senior Manager also pursues customer cost savings, budget and operating-income goals, employee development, customer growth, and effective management of operational risks and security practices. The role requires at least five years of supply chain management experience and working knowledge of transportation, warehousing, distribution, inventory planning and management, network analysis, and materials management. Candidates must have experience with financial management and business integration, HR technical skills, and availability for extended hours—including evenings, nights, and weekends—and travel to customer and multiple operating locations. Compensation is $100,000–$110,000 annually, with possible bonus or commission pay; actual compensation may vary based on experience and skill set.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in supply chain management, domestic or international.
Working knowledge of and experience in transportation, warehousing, distribution, inventory planning and management, network analysis, and materials management.
Experience with financial management and business integration.
HR technical skills.
Availability to work extended hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Availability to travel to customer and multiple operating locations.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or an MBA.
8 years of experience in transportation and logistics management.
P&L experience.
Proven leadership and collaboration skills, including experience supervising, coaching, and influencing employees.
Excellent analytical, communication, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

Define requirements for transportation operations and implement strategies and initiatives to meet or exceed company requirements and customer expectations.
Develop and deploy transportation operational and management solutions, and establish business controls and processes for regional transportation operations.
Directly supervise the transportation team to ensure service-level standards are met.
Identify and deploy customer cost-saving initiatives through established processes, and achieve budget and operating-income goals.
Lead HR development efforts through training, development, and succession planning.
Identify growth opportunities with current and new customers and perform account management for select customers.
Recognize and manage operational risks and security practices, implement best practices, provide a safe work environment, support legal processes, and enable legal dispute resolution.
