About The Position

Oversees Data Center Operations across multiple data centers, integrating team performance, operational metrics, and capacity analysis into broader business-line strategy. Directs multiple teams supporting escalated technical issues, crisis management, and root cause analysis while standardizing processes and maintaining an accurate knowledge base. Leads new-region builds and expansion activities, serving as a senior liaison with project and engineering teams to manage timelines and capacity and ensure adherence to high standards. Guides teams responsible for data center installations, repairs, inventory, and logistics; enforces component replacement and upgrade standards; recommends significant purchases; and implements advanced maintenance strategies to optimize facility efficiency and stability. The role also provides direction across teams on project execution, cross-functional collaboration, complex problem solving, continuous learning and improvement, and performance and talent development.

Responsibilities

Oversee Data Center Operations teams across multiple data centers.
Integrate operational metrics, team performance evaluations, and physical, power, and cooling capacity analysis into broader business-line strategy.
Guide cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement, and mentor team members.
Direct teams providing support for escalated and complex technical issues.
Propose and implement issue-triage strategies, using automation, scheduling, and monitoring tools to prevent and resolve problems.
Identify, document, and standardize issues, processes, and solutions; maintain an accurate data center knowledge base.
Guide implementation of incident and crisis management protocols aligned with business continuity plans.
Lead root cause analyses after crises or incidents and update documentation to capture process improvements.
Oversee new-region builds and expansion activities, onsite and remotely.
Liaise with project teams and data center engineering to manage timelines and capacity needs for expansion projects and site builds.
Collaborate with and direct project teams to maintain standards in expansion projects and site builds.
Lead teams handling data center installations, repairs, inventory management, and logistics.
Create and enforce standards for component replacements and upgrades.
Recommend and oversee significant data center purchases or upgrades.
Direct planning and coordination of rack deployments, installations, and network infrastructure upgrades or changes.
Implement advanced facility maintenance strategies focused on efficiency and stability, including containment, airflow and pressure, and power trains.
Manage multiple medium- to large-scale projects or initiatives across teams, monitoring timelines, deliverables, and budgets when applicable.
Set team priorities, align project work with business needs, and guide adjustments for resource or timeline changes.
Drive cross-functional partnerships and shared objectives; coach team members on building strategic relationships with business leaders, stakeholders, and external partners.
Promote inclusivity by seeking and listening to diverse perspectives and ensuring others feel heard and respected.
Provide direction on complex operational and technical issues and analysis of complex information; review critical or unresolved issues and guide teams toward solutions.
Model continuous learning, integrate industry best practices into strategic planning, and use feedback to improve personal and team skills.
Identify team skill gaps and support learning and knowledge sharing to develop expertise.
Drive development and implementation of ideas that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, protocols, and workflows.
Guide teams in adopting alternative approaches and methods and encourage feedback for continued improvement.
Provide performance feedback and coaching in alignment with performance management processes and expectations.
Discuss development goals, facilitate career development, and align individual goals with organizational goals.
Develop and manage the talent acquisition pipeline by leading candidate interviews, monitoring promotion eligibility, and/or coordinating talent resources.
