Senior Learning & Development Specialist

Veracity Insurance Solutions, LLC
•$75,000 - $90,000•Remote

About The Position

Veracity is seeking an experienced Senior Learning and Development Specialist for a remote role reporting to the Learning and Development Manager. The position partners with leaders, subject matter experts, and employees to assess learning and performance needs, recommend effective solutions, and lead complex initiatives from discovery through evaluation. The specialist diagnoses the root causes of performance challenges rather than simply fulfilling training requests, leads complex work with limited oversight, and strengthens the team’s practice through coaching and cross-training. The role also requires developing credible knowledge of Veracity’s insurance business and working collaboratively with colleagues. The position develops and facilitates learning and performance solutions across in-person, virtual, and digital formats; supports product, process, system, and organizational changes; and uses learning technologies and AI-enabled tools to improve quality, scalability, efficiency, and access to information. The specialist manages multiple priorities independently, communicates progress and risks, and supports other L&D initiatives as business needs evolve. Other duties may be requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of progressive experience in learning and development, talent development, organizational learning, instructional design, training, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting needs analysis or performance assessment and translating business needs into practical learning and performance solutions.
  • Experience independently leading learning initiatives or programs from discovery through implementation and follow-up.
  • Strong understanding of adult-learning principles, instructional-design methodologies, and evaluation practices.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, writing, consulting, project-management, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, work through ambiguity, constructively challenge assumptions, and recommend solutions beyond formal training when appropriate.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, reviewing, sharing knowledge, or cross-training with peers or less-experienced practitioners.
  • Comfort learning and using modern learning technology and AI-enabled tools.
  • Ability and willingness to build strong working knowledge of Veracity’s insurance business and employee audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning & Development, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience with learning management systems, Articulate 360 or similar authoring tools, Confluence or other knowledge platforms, learning analytics, or AI-supported learning workflows.
  • Experience supporting change or readiness initiatives, leadership or manager development, or cross-functional learning programs.
  • Insurance-industry experience and/or a Property & Casualty (P&C) license; helpful but not required at hire.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to understand business goals, performance challenges, employee-readiness needs, and desired outcomes.
  • Conduct needs and performance assessments, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate learning, knowledge, performance-support, reinforcement, communication, or process solutions.
  • Independently lead complex learning and enablement initiatives from discovery and recommendation through design, implementation, stakeholder communication, and evaluation.
  • Design, develop, and facilitate learning and performance solutions using adult-learning and instructional-design principles across in-person, virtual, and digital formats.
  • Establish success measures and evaluate solutions using participant feedback, assessments, behavior and performance indicators, and other relevant data.
  • Support product, process, system, and organizational changes by identifying employee knowledge, skill, and readiness implications and recommending enablement approaches.
  • Create reusable knowledge and performance-support resources and use learning technologies and AI-enabled tools to improve quality, scalability, efficiency, and access to information.
  • Share expertise, learn from colleagues, cross-train with L&D team members, provide constructive feedback, and help strengthen team standards and professional practice.
  • Develop and maintain sufficient knowledge of Veracity’s business, insurance products, processes, audiences, and operating environment to provide relevant L&D support.
  • Manage multiple priorities independently, communicate risks and progress, and support other L&D initiatives as business needs evolve.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision plans.
  • Four weeks of paid time off.
  • 10 paid company holidays and 2 floating holidays.
  • 401(k) program with employer match.
  • Personal assistance programs for support in a healthy personal and work life.
