About The Position

Freudigman & Billings is seeking a full-time Senior Instructor for its Admissions Test Prep team in Westport, Connecticut. The role focuses on helping students prepare for the ACT and SAT, with additional experience in exams such as the ISEE, SSAT, MCAT, GMAT, GRE, or LSAT welcomed. This is an onsite position; work takes place at the Westport center. Instructors teach information processing, self-monitoring, critical thinking, and problem-solving strategies. Rather than relying on rote memorization or extensive practice questions, instruction helps students gather, sequence, track, and classify information from text and visual sources so they can reason, solve problems, make inferences, and draw conclusions. The broader goal is to help students become capable, independent learners. The Senior Instructor provides one-on-one instruction to a cohort of students, averaging approximately 20–24 instructional hours per week, and builds productive relationships with students and families. The instructor collaborates with Test Prep Leadership to develop and carry out individualized plans, maintains confidentiality and client-information security, and works with colleagues in Educational Therapy, Academic Instruction, and College Advising to support students holistically. The role also includes meetings and professional development, and support with testing-accommodation applications when relevant. Senior Instructors are expected to contribute beyond direct instruction by using their expertise to strengthen departmental systems, resources, and services. Depending on skills and interests, contributions may include curriculum development, instructor coaching and development, student or family communication, or data analysis. Approximately five hours per week are initially reserved for these efforts. The position is based at the company’s Westport headquarters. Instructors have a private classroom, whiteboard, and instructional materials. The company provides established curricula, assessment and student-management systems, collaborative support, and administrative staff for scheduling, billing, inventory, printing, and practice-exam administration and scoring. Guaranteed annual pay is $85,000–$100,000, based on experience, with paid sick time, vacation time, holidays, and listed insurance and retirement benefits.
