About The Position

Freudigman & Billings is seeking a full-time Senior Instructor for its Admissions Test Prep team at its Westport, Connecticut center. The role is for an experienced test-prep educator with a significant record of helping students prepare for the ACT and SAT; experience with the ISEE, SSAT, MCAT, GMAT, GRE, and/or LSAT is also welcomed. This is an onsite position, and all work is performed at the Westport center. Instructors teach information processing, self-monitoring, critical thinking, and problem-solving strategies. Rather than relying on rote memorization or large volumes of practice questions, instruction helps students gather, sequence, track, and classify information from text and visual sources, reason, solve problems, make inferences, and draw conclusions. The work aims to help students become more capable, self-aware, confident, and independent learners beyond preparation for a single examination. Senior Instructors provide one-on-one instruction to a cohort of students, averaging approximately 20–24 instructional hours per week. They develop and carry out individualized plans with Test Prep Leadership, build productive relationships with students and families, collaborate with colleagues across departments, and support students applying for testing accommodations when relevant. Approximately five hours per week are initially reserved for departmental and professional contributions. Depending on their expertise and interests, Senior Instructors may contribute to curriculum development, instructor coaching and development, family communication, student data analysis, or other departmental initiatives. The organization provides an established curriculum, instructional materials, assessment processes, student management systems, administrative support, collaborative resources, and a private classroom at its Westport headquarters. The position offers a guaranteed salary of $85,000–$100,000, based on experience, along with paid sick time, vacation time, holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, paid parental leave, and a 401(k) plan.
