About The Position

Freudigman & Billings is seeking a full-time Senior Instructor for its Admissions Test Prep team in Westport, Connecticut. The role is intended for an experienced test-prep educator with a substantial record of helping students prepare for the ACT and/or SAT; experience with the ISEE, SSAT, MCAT, GMAT, GRE, or LSAT is also welcomed. This is an onsite position, with work performed at the Westport center. Instructors teach information processing, self-monitoring, critical thinking, and problem-solving strategies. Rather than relying on rote memorization or large volumes of practice questions, instruction helps students gather, sequence, track, and classify information from text and visual sources so they can reason, solve problems, make inferences, and draw conclusions. The goal is to help students become more capable and independent learners, extending beyond preparation for a single examination. The Senior Instructor provides one-on-one instruction to a cohort of students, averaging approximately 20–24 instructional hours per week, and helps establish productive relationships with students and families. The instructor collaborates with Test Prep Leadership to develop and carry out student-specific plans, supports students seeking testing accommodations when relevant, and works with colleagues across Educational Therapy, Academic Instruction, and College Advising. In addition to direct instruction, the role includes departmental contributions based on the instructor’s expertise and interests, such as curriculum development, instructor coaching, family communication, student data analysis, or other initiatives. Approximately five hours per week are initially reserved for these efforts. The position offers an established curriculum, instructional materials, assessment processes, student-management systems, administrative support, a private classroom, and a collaborative team environment. Almost all student work takes place at the organization’s Westport headquarters. The stated salary is $85,000–$100,000, based on experience, with paid sick time, vacation time, and holidays, as well as medical, dental, and vision insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, paid parental leave, and a 401(k) plan.
