About The Position

Provectus is hiring a hands-on Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to embed with enterprise clients and build Claude- and AWS-based AI systems for regulated production environments. Rather than delivering prototypes or slide decks, the engineer learns how client operators work, identifies the business problem, and owns delivery from framing through production. Provectus is an Anthropic and AWS Partner with more than 150 certified architects, 350+ builders, 100+ customers in production, and offices across North America, LATAM, and EMEA. The role involves working as part of a customer’s team, autonomously shaping the approach and delivering production systems. Engagements draw on Provectus industry Blueprints—working systems previously shipped for customers—and feed new field learnings back into those Blueprints. Work spans Cowork Activation, Agentic SDLC, and Blueprint Activations in Financial Services and Healthcare, as well as helping enterprises adopt AI from strategy through initial deployment and developing the tooling and frameworks of the AI delivery practice. The position is full-time and includes on-site visits to client facilities and the company’s New York City office one day per week. The base salary is $180,000–$200,000, with bonuses and on-target earnings up to $250,000. The company does not provide visa sponsorship.

Requirements

Typically 7+ years of software-building experience, including substantial production coding for which the candidate was accountable.
Remain hands-on and intend to continue writing production code.
Willingness and demonstrated ability to understand another person’s job and quickly become conversant in an unfamiliar business function.
Experience shipping GenAI/LLM systems to production and handling challenges beyond the prototype stage.
Experience building or owning an evaluation suite for a non-deterministic system, with the ability to explain what was measured and why.
Strong engineering fundamentals and ability to become productive in an unfamiliar codebase or language.
Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
Experience delivering cloud-native systems on AWS, including operational considerations for systems inherited by others.
Pre-sales experience and credibility with senior stakeholders, including business-unit leaders and CTOs.
Comfort with ambiguity, autonomy, and ownership in underspecified engagements.
Hands-on experience with Claude, Claude Code, and Cowork, including skills, workflows, MCP, integrations, connectors, or custom harnesses.

Nice To Haves

Production experience with containers and orchestration, such as Kubernetes or ECS, and CI/CD.
Infrastructure-as-code experience with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
Open-source contributions or public writing on applied AI.
Experience with GCP or Azure.

Responsibilities

Spend the first weeks of each engagement learning the operator’s work and constraints from the inside.
Work alongside the client and a Forward Deployed Executive to redesign a business function from first principles, and build the resulting system.
Embed in the customer’s team and process, work on real operational tasks, and own the delivery method autonomously.
Use Provectus industry Blueprints as a baseline and contribute field learnings back into them.
Deliver Cowork Activation, Agentic SDLC, and Blueprint Activations in Financial Services and Healthcare.
Help enterprises adopt AI from strategy through first deployment.
Help build the tooling and frameworks of Provectus’s growing AI delivery practice.
