About The Position

Turing is hiring a Forward-Deployed AI Engineer for its Enterprise AI business unit. The role is based in the Los Angeles area and focuses on building and deploying end-to-end agentic AI systems for large enterprises. The engineer will work directly with customers to identify valuable business problems, shape technical direction, architect and build production AI systems, and lead projects from discovery through deployment and measurable impact. The work includes developing multi-agent workflows, orchestration, tool use, context engineering, memory and state, and retrieval-augmented generation, alongside the APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and distributed systems needed to operate reliably at scale. The role also owns evaluation, observability, security, reliability, latency, scalability, and cost. It is a high-ownership, demanding position involving close client collaboration and an expectation to establish processes and playbooks as the business grows. The work model is in-office, typically three to five days per week depending on client requirements. In-person work may take place at a client site, and applicants should be based in the Los Angeles area or within reasonable commuting distance. Compensation is $200,000–$250,000 base salary plus equity.

  • Expertise in Python, backend systems, APIs, databases, distributed systems, system design, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience building production LLM and agent systems using orchestration, tool use, context engineering, memory and state, retrieval, and multistep workflows.
  • A track record of taking complex systems from architecture through deployment and scale.
  • Practical understanding of evaluation, observability, reliability, security, guardrails, latency, scalability, and cost.
  • Ability to enter unfamiliar environments, earn trust quickly, navigate ambiguity, and constructively challenge assumptions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior engineers and business executives, explain technical concepts clearly, work with stakeholders, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work in person three to five days per week as client requirements dictate and to be based in the Los Angeles area or within reasonable commuting distance.

  • Own evaluation, observability, security, reliability, latency, scalability, and cost.
  • Create processes and playbooks in a rapidly scaling startup environment.
