About The Position

Provectus is hiring a hands-on Senior Forward Deployed AI Architect to embed with enterprise clients, understand their business operations from the inside, and build and deploy production AI systems using Claude and AWS. The role involves working with customers in regulated industries such as financial services and healthcare, moving from understanding operational needs and constraints through building and deploying systems for real users. The architect owns the work and approach autonomously, collaborating closely with the client and a Forward Deployed Executive. Engagements draw on Provectus industry Blueprints—working systems previously shipped for customers—and field learnings are incorporated back into those Blueprints. The role contributes to Cowork Activation, Agentic SDLC, and Blueprint Activations in Financial Services and Healthcare, as well as shaping enterprise AI adoption and developing tools and frameworks for Provectus’s AI delivery practice. The position includes on-site visits to client facilities and the company’s New York City office once per week.

Requirements

Typically 7 or more years of software development experience, with a substantial portion spent writing production code for which the candidate was accountable.
Remain hands-on in software development and intend to continue doing so.
Demonstrated willingness and ability to understand another person’s work and quickly become conversant in unfamiliar business functions.
Experience shipping GenAI or LLM systems to production, including addressing challenges beyond prototyping.
Experience building or owning an evaluation suite for a non-deterministic system, and ability to explain what was measured and why.
Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to become productive in an unfamiliar codebase or language.
Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
Experience delivering cloud-native systems on AWS, including operational considerations for systems inherited by others.
Pre-sales experience and credibility with senior stakeholders, including business-unit leaders and CTOs.
Comfort with ambiguity, ownership, and engagements that begin underspecified.
Hands-on experience with Claude, Claude Code, and Cowork, including skills, workflows, MCP, integrations, connectors, or custom harnesses.

Nice To Haves

Experience with containers and orchestration such as Kubernetes or ECS, and production CI/CD.
Infrastructure-as-code experience with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
Open-source contributions or public writing about applied AI.
Experience with GCP or Azure.

Responsibilities

Learn client operations, constraints, and business functions from the operator’s perspective before writing code.
Work alongside clients and a Forward Deployed Executive to redesign business functions and build the resulting systems.
Own engagements autonomously from problem framing through production deployment.
Deliver Cowork Activation, Agentic SDLC, and Blueprint Activations in Financial Services and Healthcare.
Use and extend Provectus industry Blueprints, feeding lessons from client engagements back into them.
Help enterprises adopt AI from strategy through first deployment.
Help build tools and frameworks for Provectus’s AI delivery practice.
