About The Position

At Provectus, the Senior Forward Deployed AI Architect embeds with customers in regulated industries, including banking, insurance, and healthcare, to understand operational work and deliver Claude- and AWS-based systems into production. The role owns engagements from problem framing through deployment, works within customer teams and processes, and focuses on shipping production code and achieving measurable business outcomes rather than producing prototypes or slide decks. Engagements begin with time spent learning the operator’s work and constraints. The architect then helps rebuild the function from first principles alongside the client and a Forward Deployed Executive, while personally building the solution. Work spans Cowork Activation, Agentic SDLC, and Blueprint Activations in Financial Services and Healthcare. Provectus provides existing industry Blueprints as starting points, and lessons learned in engagements feed back into those systems. The role also helps shape enterprise AI adoption from strategy through initial deployment and contributes to the tools and frameworks of a growing AI delivery practice. The position includes on-site visits to client facilities and the company’s New York City office once per week. Requirements

Typically 7+ years building software, including substantial experience writing production code for which the candidate was accountable.
Hands-on software development experience and intent to remain hands-on.
Willingness and ability to understand another person’s job and become conversant quickly in an unfamiliar business function.
Experience shipping GenAI/LLM systems to production, including addressing challenges beyond the prototype stage.
Experience building or owning an evaluation suite for a non-deterministic system, and ability to explain what was measured and why.
Strong engineering fundamentals and ability to become productive in an unfamiliar codebase or language.
Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
Cloud-native delivery experience on AWS, including understanding the operational needs of systems inherited by others.
Pre-sales experience.
Ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders, including business unit heads and CTOs.
Comfort with ambiguity, autonomous ownership, and engagements that start underspecified.
Hands-on experience with Claude, Claude Code, and Cowork, including skills, workflows, MCP, integrations, connectors, or custom harnesses.

Nice To Haves

Experience with containers and orchestration such as Kubernetes or ECS, and production CI/CD.
Infrastructure-as-code experience with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
GCP or Azure experience.
Open-source contributions or public writing about applied AI.

Responsibilities
