About The Position

ChargeTronix is hiring a Senior (Tier III) Field Service Technician to support its modular DC fast chargers in a Southern California-based territory. This is the top technical field position on the service team and serves as the escalation point for difficult faults, new-site commissioning, and root-cause analysis of recurring issues. The technician owns territory uptime, mentors Tier I and Tier II technicians, acts as the primary on-site contact for customers and site hosts, and provides structured failure data to engineering. The role reports to the Field Service Manager and has no direct reports, while serving as a technical lead for technicians in the territory. The work includes diagnosing and repairing DC fast-charger systems, including component-level repairs; commissioning, testing, and upgrading installations; maintaining territory reliability and spares; training technicians; and ensuring safe electrical work. The technician works independently with little supervision and makes on-site safety and repair decisions. Duties also include timely ticket documentation, proactive communication with the service manager, and maintaining tools, test equipment, vehicle, and PPE. This is a full-time, exempt position based in Southern California, with 75% or more travel involving multi-day regional vehicle trips and periodic out-of-state air travel. The schedule is generally Monday through Friday, with a paid on-call rotation and occasional weekend or after-hours work for site outages. The technician plans routes and workdays to serve multiple sites efficiently and is generally home most weekends. Compensation is $75,000–$85,000 per year depending on experience, credentials, and platform expertise; travel-day per diem and an on-call differential are paid in addition to base pay. The position involves frequent outdoor work in varied weather, energized equipment up to 480 VAC and 1,000 VDC, and physical activity including standing, climbing, lifting, and working in confined cabinet spaces. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
