About the position
As the Strategic Sales Director at Gong, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Strategic Account Executives. Your role will have a direct impact on the growth of the Strategic team and Gong's overall success in achieving revenue goals. You will be expected to hire and develop experienced sales professionals, consistently deliver against revenue targets, and support your team throughout the sales cycle. Additionally, you will collaborate with sales leadership to define and implement a successful sales process. This position reports to the Vice President of Strategic Sales.
Responsibilities
- Hire and develop a team of experienced Strategic Account Executives
- Consistently deliver against team revenue goals
- Assist the team throughout their strategic sales cycles by understanding customer needs and mapping them to the value of Gong's support team
- Partner with sales leadership to define a successful and repeatable sales process
- Understand and address challenges facing the team to enable success
- Regularly report on team and individual results through pipeline management and forecasting
- Identify and make recommendations for improvement in process, efficiency, and productivity
- Manage high performing software sales teams for at least 8+ years (preferably for a SaaS company)
- Manage a Strategic sales team within major or large accounts for at least 4+ years
- Achieve 100%+ of quota as a manager and individual contributor in Strategic sales
- Recruit, retain, and develop a team from the ground up
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience managing high performing software sales teams (preferably for a SaaS company)
- 4+ years of managing a Strategic sales team within major or large accounts
- Successful track record of 100%+ of quota achievement as a manager and individual contributor in Strategic sales
- Previous experience recruiting, retaining, and developing a team from the ground up
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
