About The Position
The Senior Cook prepares food that is nutritious and properly flavored in accordance with applicable federal, state, local, and company standards, guidelines, and regulations. The role may oversee food service associates’ cooking activities when assigned by the Food Service Director. The position is full time at The Cloisters on the Platte in Gretna, Nebraska, with a Wednesday–Sunday schedule, weekend work, an AM or PM shift, and occasional special events.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional cooking experience.
- Must be team-oriented, adaptable, and reliable.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- May oversee the cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by the Food Service Director.
- Prepare various entrees and menu items according to established recipes.
- Operate and clean equipment after each use, and perform scheduled routine cleaning.
- Store, label, and date food items according to policy.
- Help maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products.
- Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of the food supply.
- Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
- Assist the Food Service Director with accurate daily production records and complete required documentation, reports, and logs as assigned.
- Assist with cross-training employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
