SENIOR COOK (FULL TIME)
About The Position
Morrison Healthcare is hiring a full-time Senior Cook at HSHS St John Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. The Senior Cook prepares food that is nutritious and properly flavored while following applicable federal, state, local, and company standards, guidelines, and regulations. The role may oversee food service associates’ cooking activities as assigned by the Food Service Director and assists with employee cross-training and daily production documentation. Full-time schedule; days and hours may vary. Pay is $16.00 to $17.00 per hour. Sick pay, paid time off accrual, paid shift meals, and uniforms are listed as perks.
Requirements
- One year of previous cooking experience is preferred.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities
- May oversee the cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by the Food Service Director.
- Prepare entrees and menu items according to established recipes.
- Operate and clean equipment after each use and perform scheduled routine cleaning.
- Store, label, and date food items according to policy; help maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products.
- Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of the food supply.
- Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
- Assist the Food Service Director in maintaining accurate daily production records and complete required documentation, reports, and logs as assigned.
- Assist in cross-training employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
