About The Position
The Senior Cook prepares food that is nutritious and properly flavored in accordance with applicable federal, state, local, and company standards, guidelines, and regulations. This is a full-time position at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tennessee. The schedule may vary based on operational needs. The role requires prior cooking experience. The position may include periods of reduced or paused work during university breaks, which may be unpaid; depending on business needs, year-round work may be required, potentially at a different location.
Requirements
- Prior cooking experience.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- May oversee the cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by the Food Service Director.
- Prepare various entrees and menu items following established recipes.
- Operate and clean equipment after each use.
- Perform scheduled routine cleaning.
- Store, label, and date food items according to policy.
- Help maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products.
- Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of the food supply.
- Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
- Assist the Food Service Director in maintaining accurate daily production records and complete required documentation, reports, and logs as assigned.
- Assist in cross-training employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
