SENIOR COOK (FULL TIME)
About The Position
The Senior Cook prepares food that is nutritious and properly flavored in accordance with applicable federal, state, local, and company standards, guidelines, and regulations. This is a full-time position at Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Kamuela, Hawaii, scheduled Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Further schedule details may be provided during the interview. The pay range is $20.00 to $22.00 per hour. The role may include overseeing cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by the Food Service Director. It also includes preparing menu items from established recipes, operating and cleaning equipment, maintaining food storage and records, following food safety and sanitation procedures, and assisting with employee cross-training.
Requirements
- Previous experience in batch cooking, catering, and food preparation is required.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare nutritious, properly flavored food in accordance with applicable standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- May oversee cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by the Food Service Director.
- Prepare entrees and menu items according to established recipes.
- Operate and clean equipment after each use and perform scheduled routine cleaning.
- Store, label, and date food items according to policy, and help maintain organized dry, refrigerated, and frozen storage.
- Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of the food supply.
- Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
- Assist the Food Service Director in maintaining daily production records and complete assigned documentation, reports, and logs.
- Assist with cross-training employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
