DoD SkillBridge: Senior Civil Engineer (APT53672)
About The Position
APTIM is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for its Solid Waste Engineering Group to support a portfolio of projects. The group serves public- and private-sector clients through facility design and permitting, stormwater modeling and management plan development, construction oversight, operations and maintenance, hydrogeologic and geotechnical investigations, and environmental compliance audits. The role may be remote or based in Concord, California; Dallas, Texas; Tampa or Winter Garden, Florida; Findlay, Ohio; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; or St. Louis, Missouri. This is a DoD SkillBridge internship hosted by APTIM and provided through Vets2PM LLC. Applicants must be active-duty U.S. military members who qualify for the DoD SkillBridge Program. Requirements
- BS/MS in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent sciences.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Ability to work on multidisciplinary projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Self-starter and problem solver.
- Excellent organizational skills.

Nice To Haves
- Landfill or solid waste experience.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, and ArcGIS software.
- Knowledge of landfill operations and solid waste projects.
- Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead teams or projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
- Prepare regulatory compliance reports, work plans, and special studies.
- Provide technical oversight and quality control.
- Anticipate client needs and identify solutions.
