About The Position

UBS is seeking transitioning members of the US Armed Services who are approved for DOD SkillBridge to participate in a training assignment in the financial services industry. During the SkillBridge assignment, participants remain active service members and are not employees of UBS.

As an Operations Associate in the Investment Bank, the trainee will help support daily operational activity, including transactional processes, accuracy and efficiency, and the needs of various bank departments. The role offers broad exposure to investment banking operations and is intended to prepare participants for a career in investment banking. The trainee will work with business partners and clients, and join a diverse Operations team focused on service and operational excellence. Investment Bank Operations includes teams supporting securities settlements and transaction processing, corporate actions, regulatory transaction reporting, collateral and margin management, middle-office support, exchange-traded and OTC derivatives, client onboarding and maintenance, client central services, product management, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing and verifying transactions, ensuring accurate data and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Handle client inquiries and provide timely, accurate information.
• Collect and record client-identifying details during onboarding and periodic client reviews.
• Maintain accurate, current, and accessible data records, and use data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Generate and analyze reports to support departments and provide insights into operational performance.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks in operational processes to protect transaction integrity.
• Use technology to automate processes, improve service delivery, and create time-saving efficiencies and scalable processes.
• Collaborate with Compliance, IT, Front Office, and other teams to support seamless operations.
• Participate in projects to improve operational efficiency and implement best practices.
• Explore AI applications for improving and optimizing workflows while validating outputs and following policies, risk standards, and ethical-use requirements.
