About the position
This role is for a Business Analyst at Kobalt, a leading music company that focuses on empowering artists, songwriters, publishers, and labels through technology. The company has experienced significant growth and is looking for someone who can analyze complex business problems, manage stakeholders, and navigate the challenges of the music industry. As part of the Product, Design, and Delivery team, the Business Analyst will play a crucial role in understanding business requirements, technology constraints, and processes to support the company's transformation programs and collaborate with various teams and stakeholders. This is an opportunity to own and drive the new function of Business Analysis at Kobalt, contributing to continuous improvement and optimizing business processes.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate understanding of business requirements, technology constraints, and processes across transformation programs, Product and Technology teams, and business stakeholders.
- Recognize and explore opportunities within the business for delivering continuous improvement.
- Investigate and document business functions, processes, information flows, and data structures.
- Use various methodical and consistent techniques for analyzing complex tech, product, and business problems.
- Champion Business Analysis as a practice at Kobalt and set it up with the support of Product Leadership.
- Provide leadership to the Business Analysts in the team and drive change across the business.
- Promote exceptional change management, documentation, and communication skills to senior stakeholders.
- Drive decision making, analytical thinking, and support the development process.
- Empower and mentor engineers, product managers, and delivery managers.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of business analysis methodologies
- Experience in using BA toolkit to analyze, reduce, and facilitate understanding of complex tech, product, and business problems
- Confidence in championing Business Analysis and setting it up as a practice at Kobalt
- Ability to lead both strategy and execution of analysis
- Leadership skills to provide guidance and support to Business Analysts in the team
- Strong change management, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to drive decision making and analytical thinking
- Experience in supporting the development process and mentoring engineers, product managers, and delivery managers
