About The Position

Public Storage is hiring a Self Storage Manager to serve customers at multiple locations. The role involves working independently both indoors and outdoors, assessing customers’ storage needs and recommending storage options and packing and moving supplies. Managers inspect storage units to confirm inventory and availability, audit cash drawers, make bank deposits, help customers stay current with payments, and make reminder and collection calls when needed. The position also includes cleaning and routine maintenance of indoor areas and exterior grounds.

The role offers flexible, full-time schedules between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., with weekend hours until 5 p.m. The listed pay is $17.00 per hour. Employees who average 20 or more hours per week become eligible for full-time benefits. Mileage reimbursement is available for travel between properties and other work-related tasks. Property Managers may also earn performance-based bonuses.

Requirements

• Experience in a customer-service-centered sales environment; examples include retail, restaurant, fast food, or other service-based companies.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Use of a personal vehicle to travel between work locations and/or conduct other work-related business.
• Ability to transport, lift, or move items weighing up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to spend up to 50% of working time outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Assess customers’ storage needs and make recommendations, including selling packing and moving supplies.
• Inspect storage units daily to confirm inventory and availability and ensure spaces are ready to rent.
• Audit cash drawers and make bank deposits.
• Help customers stay current with payments and make reminder and collection calls when required.
• Travel between multiple locations and conduct other work-related business using a personal vehicle.
• Perform cleaning and daily maintenance, including sweeping and mopping interior areas and keeping exterior grounds clean and free of debris.
• Walk around facilities, including climbing stairs and opening large doors.
